TDOC: numero 10-12

Good evening to you, dear readers.  In a strange departure for me, I am actually writing a post at night.  It might have something to do with the fact that I no longer live 50 miles away from civilization (if you're reading this, mom and dad, j/k), so I actually have time to do things once I get home.  Be that as it may, I thought I would take the opportunity to catch up on my recent mini celebrations, so here goes nothin'.

Day 10

If I'm being honest, this one is a bit of a stretch, but try to give me a little grace.  My day 10 celebration consisted of me treating myself to a Starbucks beverage on the way to work.  I know what you're thinking and I can see you rolling your eyes, but hear me out.  You see, I have stopped frequenting the 'bucks on weekdays and instead, have been saving these trips for weekend indulgences only.  Therefore, going there on a Monday was, in fact, a treat.  I don't have photo documentation, but I am certain you can picture it.

"Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things."
Philippians 4:8

Day 11

I had been stashing away some bananas for my eleventh day of celebration and used them to try out a new banana bread recipe.  I am still on my quest to find the perfect, go-to recipe and this one was pretty good.  However, I am not entirely convinced I have found "the one," but I enjoyed it nonetheless.  I also got to use some authentic Mexican vanilla that Sarah (the new roomster) brought me back from her cruise.

In honor of day eleven's celebration, I cranked up my i-pod and did some serious jamming whilst I whipped up the batter and had a grand old time making use of all my new counter space.

Of course, I enjoyed a hot slice (or two) right out of the oven and it was quite a party in my mouth.  I'm beginning to think I can turn anything into a celebration...

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.  For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it bear and sprout, and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire."
Isaiah 55:8-11

Day 12

I got to celebrate the 12th day of my birthday month by communing over a meal with members of my church community group.  We were celebrating the completion of our most recent group study with dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Bolsa.  (As an aside, if you live in the area and haven't been, go immediately and get the twig and branch flatbread.)  Dinner with friends is certainly a celebration, so why shouldn't it count for TDOC?  I see no reason why not, so that's good enough for me.  Day 12: check!

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

He waits for our permission often times, because it wouldn't be love if it wasn't freely given and freely received. I love you tons, and wish I could be there to celebrate with you. I celebrate in my heart! Cheers to you fuzz (clink! clink! goes our cyber champagne flutes)

yes, the banana bread was pretty delish and when you add chocolate chips, you really can't go wrong. thanks for the encouragement on my TDOC. it's been a bit of a journey to get to this place, but i'm so glad the Lord gave me the desire to embrace my birthday rather than attempt to forget it. i am celebrating with you in my heart as well and raise my cyber champagne flute!
