Thank goodness it's Thursday (TGIT, as my fuzz would say)! After moving and getting everything set up over the holiday weekend, I feel like I have been exhausted this week. Lucky for me, it's a short four days, so the weekend is within reach.
Despite my less than chipper state, that's no excuse for not celebrating, so here are my latest attempts to carpe diem (so to speak):
Well, I went with the totally obvious and non-original yesterday and made a cake to celebrate the 5th day of the 30 days of my birth month. That's right, I'm home by myself and just decided to whip up a standard yellow cake and threw in some chocolate and peanut butter cups just for kicks and giggles. It was nothing fancy, no frosting or decor, just straight up bundt cake. I enjoyed a piece hot out of the oven with a glass of almond milk. Happy birthday to me!
"O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!"
(Okay, so maybe not necessarily one of my all-time favorite scriptures, but it was just so apropos for the photo above. And hey, there's really not such a thing as a bad verse in the Bible, right?)
In honor of day six (today), I am celebrating by wearing a new dress that I bought yesterday courtesy of a gift card. It isn't a color I typically wear AND I also don't usually wear maxi dresses to work (not that I work in a business professional attire workplace, but for some reason, I have just tended to shy away from wearing dresses of the floor length variety whilst at work). Here's to taking chances with my wardrobe choices!
"And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress, for we do not even know what to pray for or how we should pray, but the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words."
(Probably one of my top 5/top 10 verses)
