makin' a list, checkin' it twice.

I will spare you the remaining stanzas and get right down to the business of this post. I thought I should share with you my must-see Christmas movie list. I've been quite the go-getter this season and have already crossed many off my list. BUT, that doesn't mean I can't watch them again...and again...and again.

Here are the titles I've enjoyed so far:

1. Elf

2. It's a Wonderful Life

3. Love Actually

4. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

5. Fred Claus

6. The Holiday

7. The Santa Clause

8. The Family Stone

There are still a number of movies I need to check off my list, including Miracle on 34th Street (not a must, but enjoyable), The Muppet Christmas Carol (it's not Christmas until I've had me some muppets I tell ya), Dr. Seuss': How The Grinch Stole Christmas (the original cartoon and updated movie), Meet Me in St. Louis (brings me back to my childhood, especially watching it with my seester) and I'm sure a dozen more that just aren't coming to mind at the moment.

Reader question: What's on your Christmas movie checklist? What's the one movie you have to watch or it "just doesn't feel like Christmas?" I think if I had to pick, it would be It's a Wonderful Life, but for comedies, Fred Claus has definitely captured my heart and I'm a HUGE fan!

I have already seen Christmas Vacation in many segments over a week's time when a particular channel was playing it every night. Have also seen the musical Scrooge (with Albert Finney) twice this season - always one of my very favorites. I am completely taken by the story of his redemption, and his honest change of heart, and how the change in his life brought so much joy to all those around him. I totlly choke up every time I see this one. I must see It's a Wonderful Life soon, or something will definitely be missing from my Christmas experience.
